The need for specific language support for children of immigrant background is enormous, especially in elementary schools. KU students have designed didactic units for this purpose and tested their materials in practice. With this model project they supported the teachers of three primary schools in Eichstätt and neighboring Adelschlag. The project has now received the world’s most important award for service-learning at Catholic universities: the “Global Award” of the international Uniservitate network.
La necesidad de apoyo lingüístico específico a los niños de origen inmigrante es enorme, especialmente en las escuelas primarias. Los estudiantes de KU han diseñado unidades didácticas para este propósito y han probado sus materiales en la práctica. Con este proyecto modelo apoyaron a los profesores de tres escuelas primarias de Eichstätt y de la vecina Adelschlag. El proyecto ha recibido ahora el premio más importante del mundo para el aprendizaje-servicio en las universidades católicas: el “Global Award” de la red internacional Uniservitate.
Le besoin de soutien linguistique spécifique pour les enfants issus de l’immigration est énorme, en particulier dans les écoles primaires. Les étudiants de la KU ont conçu des unités d’enseignement à cette fin et ont testé leur matériel dans la pratique. Avec ce projet modèle, ils ont soutenu les enseignants de trois écoles primaires à Eichstätt et dans la ville voisine d’Adelschlag. Le projet a reçu le prix le plus important au monde pour l’apprentissage par le service dans les universités catholiques : le « Global Award » du réseau international Uniservitate.
