Arts-based service-learning brings together the power of the arts with the essential components of service-learning in a mutually empowering way. This study is an exploratory analysis of the field of arts-based service-learning, based on a purposive sample of 435 institutions of higher education that grant degrees in art education. The sample was drawn from the \u00abArtschools.com\u00bb database, which includes universities, colleges, and art schools of higher education. The analysis began by surveying the websites of each ofthe 435 institutions to identify any courses, co-curricular projects, centers, or degrees that were named as being servicelearning courses or having arts-based service-learning elements.<\/span><\/p>\n

El aprendizaje-servicio basado en las artes re\u00fane el poder de las artes con los componentes esenciales del aprendizaje-servicio de una manera que se empodera mutuamente. Este estudio es un an\u00e1lisis exploratorio del campo del aprendizaje-servicio basado en las artes, basado en una muestra intencional de 435 instituciones de educaci\u00f3n superior que otorgan t\u00edtulos en educaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica. La muestra se extrajo de la base de datos \u00abArtschools.com\u00bb, que incluye universidades, colegios y escuelas de arte de educaci\u00f3n superior.
